Classical by the Scheldt - The 5 seasons

Klassiek in het Groen (Classical in the Green) is launching a brand-new production this summer: “The 5 Seasons” . Dirigent Dirk Brossé leads the Ataneres orchestra, together with sopranos Ana Naqe and Isabel Poro and the Fine Fleur choir. Acteur Lucas Van den Eynde brings a special musical intermezzo with Les Feuilles Mortes (known in the version by Yves Montand) and L'été indien , the unforgettable hit by Joe Dassin. In addition, Thorwald Jørgensen provides a unique musical experience with the rarely heard instrument, the theremin. The program brings a rich selection of works by, among others, Edvard Grieg, Giuseppe Verdi, Johann Strauss II, Alexander Borodin, Antonio Vivaldi, Jacques Offenbach, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, George Gershwin and Toto Cutugno. As always, it will be a particularly varied program with impressive classical works, moving arias, fascinating and witty anecdotes, and surprising side steps to jazz and classically inspired versions of some beautiful pop songs. The gardens of the Royal Yacht Club België form the perfect backdrop for this summer evening. With a view of the mighty Scheldt and the sparkling lights on the water, while the imposing Onze-Lieve Vrouwekathedraal is reflected in the stream, music here becomes pure magic. During Klassiek aan de Schelde (Classical on the Scheldt), music, atmosphere, and location merge into a unique experience. A beautiful stage, exceptional musicians, and impressive voices ensure goosebump moments.
