Ugo Dehaes - Moving Skin - 7+

Tijdens Moving Skin invites Ugo Dehaes the audience to his large table. He talks about his fascinating search for a robot that can dance like a human. Ugo dreams of a strong, soft, cuddly robot. One that can get goosebumps, or that can give them to you. Ugo ingeniously dissects what a human is. The skeleton, the muscles, the nerve pathways, and the other wonders of our body are discussed. For each of these aspects, he conjures up creations from on, under, and next to the table that look very much like our hands, tendons, brains. Robot-like creatures take over the table moving, sometimes brutal and even slightly repulsive, then again funny, cute, moving, and elegant. The audience of all ages listens, watches, touches, wonders, saves that one robot from a fall, shouts “ew”, laughs out loud, gets moved, but is above all under the spell of Ugo’s fascinating storytelling and the insane beauty of human and machine. Moving Skin premiered in March 2025 and receives glowing feedback from all age categories during the extensive tour. At the Krokusfestival, the performance was awarded by the children's jury as the best Belgian performance.
