PREMIERE / TEXT THEATER - From 12 years old
Het Proces, Kafka’s magnum opus, is adapted by the Mechelen theater group Wafka into a multimedia whirlwind of music, film, and acting. When Nadat Josef K. is arrested for unclear reasons, he maneuvers himself through a disorienting process. Although, is this even a process… The deeper he descends into the dark twists of the legal system, the more he begins to wonder. He increasingly succumbs to the absurdity of the modern world. A world that stagehands in the performance draw with chalk lines. Are they accidental bystanders? Or are they part of the apparatus that persecutes Josef K.? When Hoewel Josef K. tries to color within the lines, it turns out to be increasingly difficult when those (chalk) lines are constantly moving.
