“When you have to shoot, shoot, don't talk!” Sergio Leone Dans this village in southern Italy, everyone is nicknamed. Simeone, the brother of young Maria, is called Jesus. He looks like Christ, whose role he plays during the Good Friday Passion. Maria is this young girl who grabs the 9 mm Smith & Wesson pistol in the kitchen sideboard. She leaves the house, weapon in hand. She walks towards the village. She goes to Angelo le Couillon, the young man who violated her the day before. The village follows her, eventually forming a colorful procession: the president of the hunters' club, the employees of the scrapyard, the mechanic, the local bikers, the old schoolteacher, the neighbors envious of Maria's youth. And of her beauty. Everyone tells their anecdote about Maria, delivering in turn each part of her life. There are those who encourage her, those who want to dissuade her, but nothing and no one will be able to stop her, make her drop her weapon, not even her family, not even the police…
