Zea Quartet

For several years, ZEA, alias Arnold DeBoer has sung in all languages, has surrounded himself, has isolated himself, has joined The Ex before offering music that drinks from numerous sources, those that nourish trance and roots. For several albums, he has been singing in Frisian, the language of the western Netherlands, spoken in his native lands, around Makkum, from which his label derives its name. To accompany his crossings, and to set to music the combinations that make up who he is, he takes with him a classical guitar from which he draws a melodic but above all rhythmic use, suited to underlining the spoken word. Accompagné de Xavier Charles on the clarinet, Ineke Duivenvoorde on the drums and Harald Austbø on cello, between pinpoint arrangements and organic improvisation, he takes us on a journey between myths and promises.
