Side program 'De Duinenabdij and the sea' The inspiring environment of the Abbey Museum forms the setting for this workshop where young and slightly older work together! Under the guidance of Isabelle Soete of the Westhoek Academie, we let ourselves be inspired by, on the one hand, the ongoing expo 'De Duinenabdij and the sea' and, on the other hand, the numerous decorated tiles from the museum collection. De Duinheren always wanted to be up to date with the architectural styles of the moment, and we also notice that in the different types of tiles that archaeologists found during the excavations. Are you going for an imaginative creature on your tile that seems to come straight from the sea? Or a boat, a shell, a fish, ... ? Use your imagination to the fullest. We will already give you some beautiful examples from the history of the abbey. For this, we will get creatively to work with clay and paint. No experience required. Practical: Location: Abbey Museum (A. Verbouwelaan 15). On Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. Tickets: Tickets: 10 euros (Adults 18+): and 5 euros (children). Materials are provided by the Abbey Museum. Age: all ages provided there is an interest in drawing/crafting. Duration: 2 hours. This is a family activity (minimum supervision of one adult). Max. 20 participants. With your ticket, you can also visit the museum without obligation before or after the workshop. The museum closes at 6 p.m.
