What if old theater greats play their last role? Kurt Defrancq discovers it, with warm stories, sharp insights, and a toast to life.
Acteur Kurt Defrancq receives famous Bruges residents who once stood on the boards with big and well-known roles. This time they play the character of their lives. Who better than someone on the threshold of death can tell what they expect from it? Do they have any last words, any persistent wrinkles to iron out?
Do not grieve, for Kurt and companions celebrate life and give the afternoon back to ‘the word’. After a succession of beautiful and sharp stories, they end with the thought: “We are not dead yet! Let us therefore toast to life.”
Kurt Defrancq draws the inspiration for this project from the book ‘Verhalen voor het sterven gaan’. He collaborated for this with opinion maker Marc Cosyns on stories that offer comfort in the light of the sooner or later expected death.
The stories were provided to him by famous storytellers, actors, writers...
