Visiting the city from a height can give a completely different view. Turnhout from a height shows us how green our city has remained.
From the tower of the Heilig-Hartkerk, in good weather at a height of 30 meters, you have a beautiful view over our city and the Kempen.
On the terrace of the Turnova tower, we are at a height of 70 meters. Seeing thirty kilometers away is no problem. The spoil tips of Beringen, the cooling towers of Doel, but also closer: the church tower of Hoogstraten or the brick factories next to the canal.
In the tower of the Sint-Pieterskerk, we find a carillon of great historical value. Andreas Van den Gheyn, master bell founder from the 18th century, cast a carillon for this tower in 1775. The combined weight of the 53 present bells amounts to approximately 10,000 kg.
