Evening excursion on Midsummer Night - nocturnal animals in the Drooghout flood area

On Saturday, June 20, we will head into the Drooghout flood area in the evening. As the sun sets, the nocturnal animals take over. We will go in search of bats hunting above the water, and those who are lucky might spot the rare Daubenton's bat, a true specialty of this humid area. With a light trap, we will also try to lure and identify moths : that range of shapes, patterns, and colors will surprise you. We will provide a short introduction to both groups. The official walk and explanation run until 11 pm, but those who want are welcome to stay until midnight while the light trap remains on and more and more visitors appear. Good company, a drink, and a light trap full of moths, that is a midsummer night! For the real enthusiasts: come back on Sunday, June 21 at 8 am for a look at the entire moth catch of the night.
