Elisabeth Klinck & Nils Vermeulen / Qoa / Primeiro - Blickwinkel presents in Meulestedeke

Musical evening mass in the Meulestedekerk in collaboration with Anker. For the first edition, the Gentse Blickwinkel label presents a double bill with local heroes Elisabeth Klinck & Nils Vermeulen and the Argentine QOA & Primeiro. About QOA & Primeiro Nina Corti (QOA) and Segundo Bercetche (Primeiro) are Argentine artists who explore sound, space, and territoriality in their joint work through immersive audiovisual practices and experimental performances. Their research connects ecological narratives with embodied listening practices, exploring the materiality of sound as a form of dynamic existence. They have participated in residencies where they developed compositions for specialized audio systems such as EMS (Stockholm), GMEM (Marseille), and 4DSOUND (London). Their work includes immersive performances and installations that link sonic ecologies to an expansion of collective perception. They are co-directors of the festival Feed the River, which focuses on the sonic relationship with water through community-oriented collective spatial sound interventions. Their work has been presented at major international festivals, including Fusion Festival (Germany), La Nature (France), Each Story (Japan), and Niansa (Slovenia). Over Elisabeth Klinck & Nils Vermeulen Violiste and composer Elisabeth Klinck and double bassist Nils Vermeulen present their new duo album Pioen (blickwinkel) in concert. Their music starts from the act of listening and a physical approach to sound, at the intersection of improvisation, composition, and acoustic research. Klinck is based in Brussels and is known for her tactile, fragile sound worlds. Her albums Picture a Frame and Chronotopia (selected by The Quietus as one of the best albums of 2025) were released by Hallow Ground. In 2025 she was named one of Klara's De Twintigers, a recognition for promising voices within Belgian classical music. Vermeulen moves between free improvisation, jazz, and contemporary music and has worked with, among others, William Parker and Paul Lytton. As an artistic researcher affiliated with KASK & Conservatorium Gent, he explores the acoustic possibilities of the double bass, including through homemade gut strings. Pioen was recorded in a small monastery chapel in the center of Ghent. The silence and intimacy of the space form the musical fabric, in which sound and silence flow into each other and the voice appears organically as an extension of violin and double bass.
