Analogue Humans is an art-house film by Peltenaren Terry Beks and Kim Vreys that brings fiction, docu, and art together in an immersive viewing experience. The film zooms in on the transition from an analog to a digital world and asks a recognizable question: what does that lightning-fast digitalization do to us as humans? By means of personal encounters with, among others, Stef Kamil Carlens, Rudy Trouvé, Chantal Acda, Kris Dane, and Dijf Sanders, the film investigates the difference between analog and digital — not only in music, but also in our daily and social life. The result is a nostalgic but current snapshot of a society in change. Hoofdpersonage Dirk Hendrikx takes the viewer through an expo where works of art come to life and where he goes in search of the lasting value of the analog. Analogue Humans is an audiovisual total experience that touches, slows down, and invites reflection. The film was shot in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Japan and is the result of a broad artistic collaboration with renowned makers such as Rob Walbers, Gideon Kiefer, MELVIN, Jaak De Digitale, and Geert Peeten. The soundtrack, composed by Terry Beks under the name KID. forms the beating heart of the film.
