A village full of secrets. One disappearance. Everyone a suspect.
In an apparently quiet village in the Vlaamse Ardennen, a disappearance is established.
Inspecteurs Silke and Walter are put on the case and soon collide with a colorful procession of village figures, each with their own reason to keep the truth hidden.
‘PARELKERKE’ is a sparkling murder mystery comedy in the atmosphere of ‘Poirot’ and ‘Knives Out’, but firmly rooted in Flemish clay soil. The humor balances between the warm, folk touch of ‘Van Vlees en Bloed’ and light absurd, FARGO-like scenes. All these ingredients together make ‘Parelkerke’ an evening full of mystery and pleasure.
Just like our previous folk film ‘Adam & Eva’, the film brings together a strong cast again with, among others, Dirk Van Dijck, Tania Van der Sanden, Peter Van den Eede, Peggy Schepens, Carry Goossens, and Bob De Moor, supplemented with numerous local talents from the region.
With ‘PARELKERKE’, film becomes a real performance again: a cozy evening in which audience, humor, and mystery come together again.
