Listen to a Bach cantata at the Salon van Abby At the Salon van Abby, you can enjoy a deep, soothing dive into a classical piece by Bach during a 'listening lecture' by baroque legend Sigiswald Kuijken: violinist, conductor, and world-class Bach expert. For more than forty years, Sigiswald Kuijken has had a special bond with Bach's religious music and has performed cantatas, passions, motets, and oratorios with his ensemble La Petite Bande. His interpretations strive for historical authenticity with original instruments and smaller ensembles, as Bach himself used. La Petite Bande is internationally recognized as a pioneer in this approach.  In his series of 'listening lectures' at Abby, Kuijken presents a Bach cantata from the liturgical calendar each time and explains it in an accessible way, sometimes with the help of his instruments.
