A hot-stoked sauna. Inside, world problems are reduced to trade opportunities: where panic reigns, there is much to be earned. If you position yourself on the right side of a tilting history, the money rolls your way by itself. Time passes. Gluttonous, the gentlemen and ladies in the sauna continue to close their shady deals, dampen their emotional lives, hide their desires, and avoid each other's eyes. Blind to the tipping point that will change life irrevocably, unrecognizably, and revolutionarily. After which the world will be divided into a before and after. Witte Weelde is an exploration of willful powerlessness, wearing time, disturbed communication between people, and the human striving (and failure) for meaning and connection.
