A major figure in contemporary jazz guitar, Peter Bernstein has established himself for over thirty years as one of the most elegant heirs to the American tradition, in the lineage of Jim Hall or Kenny Burrell. His playing, at once limpid, warm, and deeply melodic, has won over both swing purists and modern jazz lovers. For this quartet tour, he surrounds himself with three of the most brilliant musicians of their generation: Sullivan Fortner on piano, Doug Weiss on double bass, and Kush Abadey on drums.
Sullivan Fortner, virtuoso pianist and winner of a Grammy Award, brings remarkable creative energy and harmonic richness. His refined touch and sense of improvisation dialogue ideally with Bernstein's guitar, in a constant exchange between tradition and invention. On double bass, Doug Weiss provides a supple and singing rhythmic foundation, while Kush Abadey, a drummer with a subtle and explosive style, infuses the quartet with a modern and inspired pulse.
The Peter Bernstein Quartet's repertoire mixes original compositions, revisited standards, and moments of improvisation of great freedom. On stage, the group deploys a lively, accessible, and sophisticated jazz, where each musician finds the space to express themselves while serving a remarkable overall cohesion.
Between lyricism, swing, and modernity, this quartet promises an exceptional evening, carried by the timeless elegance of Peter Bernstein and the complicity of a collective at the peak of its art.
