Aïda is an opera by Giuseppe Verdi, with a libretto by Antonio Ghislanzoni based on a plot by the archaeologist Auguste Mariette, created in 1871 for the inauguration festivities of the Suez Canal in Cairo. The opera will be staged under the artistic direction of Europa InCanto and the Maestro Germano Neri. This version is an adaptation of the original opera and represents the final moment of the Scuola InCanto project, conducted in Belgian and European primary schools, with the coordination of OperaMus and the support of its vocal coaches.
During 4 performances, children from the 16 schools participating in the project will interact on stage with professional opera singers, in a profusion of music and colors. After 6 months of preparation, children from more than 13 different nationalities will sing in Italian, the original language of the opera Aida, the most beautiful arias of the opera.
The Scuola InCanto school project, designed by Europa inCanto and organized in Belgium by Operamus, now in its sixth edition, was carried out thanks to the support of the Embassy of Italy in Belgium, the Consulat Général of Italy in Brussels, the Consulat Général of Italy in Charleroi, the school offices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Italien de Bruxelles and Charleroi, the Italian Cultural Institute of Brussels, and Fédération Wallonie-Brussels, OLC program, Ferrero.
