After the successful philosophical talk-comedy tsjik tsjak Wham, Thomas Claessens and Hendrik Kegels are joining forces again. This time they are taking a close look at one of Shakespeare's most underrated works: The comedy of errors. In the version by Thomas and Hendrik, four lookalikes meet at the start of the performance. They are wearing the same coat, the same sneakers and socks... even the same mustache! They look so much alike that they even have trouble distinguishing themselves from one another.
What starts as a small confusion quickly develops into a tangle of misunderstandings. In an attempt to emphasize their differences, the four lose themselves in an increasingly absurd logic. They start playing each other to make it clear how different they are, they put on each other's identical clothes, but they get increasingly entangled in a labyrinth of mistaken identities. Until they no longer know who is who, and don't even know who they are themselves.
What if we are not as special as we like to believe? What if you can be replaced by someone who thinks they are a better version of you? Hendrik and Thomas find out why we feel this constant urge to distinguish ourselves from one another, why we are so afraid of not being unique. The original Shakespeare remains present in the background – or does the fiction overtake reality and the players themselves? A comedy of errors promises an evening full of humor, confusion, and misunderstandings. FC De Kampioenen, but in verse.
