In ‘Schërzo’, Släpstick’s idiosyncratic, swirling, and hilarious look at classical music, nothing is what it seems. The five musical all-rounders take you on a farcical trip along masterpieces by Rossini, Brahms, Saint-Saëns, Gershwin, and many other illustrious composers. In an inimitable way, the five play the great classics and honor comedy heroes like Victor Borge, Mini & Maxi, Danny Kaye, and Charlie Chaplin in passing.
Where the music term ‘scherzo’ (Italian for joke) stands for a short, lively piece, Släpstick opens that definition wonderfully. The result is a mix of physical theater, musicality, and perfectly timed humor. Think of a yodeling Schubert in a ventriloquism duel with Beethoven, a raging double bassist, or ‘21 masterpieces in 1 minute’.
With their previous theater shows, the five musical clowns made a splash nationally and internationally. Experience the boundless universe of Släpstick yourself now, with their dizzying amount of instruments, theatrical inventions, and classical music at the highest level.
