Pavillon De Musique - Long live G.F. Handel!

Georg Friedrich Haendel was a versatile composer. As a young lad, he conquered the Italian musical scene with his beautiful operas. Throughout his life, he achieved success across Europe with arias, oratorios, and much more. Handel’s organ concertos were often played at times that are no longer customary today, such as during the intermission of an opera. To honor that tradition, this concert features a cheerful and virtuosic organ concerto as an intermezzo between arias for soprano and strings from his most famous operas. The organ and the soprano, the guests of honor in this program, will also perform as soloists in Handel’s Salve Regina.
