Walking along Stumbling Stones Event

Walking along Stumbling Stones

Sat, 13 Jun 2026 · 10:00
Westmeers 100, Bruges
€2–12
In the autumn of 2022, the first Bruges 'Stumbling Stone' was tiled into the sidewalk, in honor of the young resistance leader Mathieu Hinoul in Assebroek. Een Struikelsteen keeps the memory of the resistance against the Nazis alive. Meanwhile, there are 31 stumbling stones in Bruges. We will walk past a number of stumbling stones in the Bruges city center and tell the story of the person behind each stone: partisans who sabotaged railways and factories, the first resistance fighters of the Nationale Partij, the espionage networks Luc-Marc and Moujick, the students of the RMS. All ordinary people who resisted fascism at the risk of their own lives. In collaboration with Werkgroep Struikelstenen Brugge Guides: Karl Duc
