Lampje lives with her father in a lighthouse. Her father is a lighthouse keeper, he has only one leg and is a drunkard. Lampje regularly has to help keep the lighthouse burning. On a stormy day, things go wrong: the lamp is not burning, father is drunk again. A ship crashes against the rocks and the municipality wants measures. Lampje is taken from her home. She is placed in the Zwarte Huis, a castle owned by a sea captain. No one wants to work there because a monster lives there. Maar Lampje does not believe in monsters. Annet Schaap won all Dutch-language literary prizes with the book Lampje , including the Gouden Griffel, the Boekenleeuw, and the Woutertje Pieterse Prijs. Lampje immediately became a classic. The book has been translated into more than 25 languages. Theater FroeFroe en Johnny MUS were completely blown away by this magnificent story and decided to turn it into a theater performance. This was awarded as Beste Figurentheatervoorstelling at the Boze Wolffestival 2025.
