The relatively new nature reserve \"De Ledegemse Meersen\" quickly proved to act as a magnet for butterflies. They are attracted from far and wide by the local vegetation. Many species of flutterers, which are harder to see in other places, appear to feel perfectly at home in the Ledegemse Meersen. Walk with us and learn to distinguish the different species of meadow browns, blues, whites, clouded yellows, etc. Meanwhile, we will also be searching for the larger butterfly species, and you will learn which host plants their caterpillars (which are often just as beautiful as the butterflies themselves) live on.
