EVENING CHAT – Intimate acoustic concert with songs from the debut album and new material

AVONDKOUT is the solo project of Ben Depuydt (Ostend, 1980). What started with the rediscovery of an old poetry collection grew into a personal music project in which forgotten texts are given a new life. Inspired by poems from the period 2004-2006 and thirty years of musical ideas, Ben wrote thirteen intimate acoustic songs. Together with producer Ace Zec and musicians Yannick Dumarey and Fred De Moor, he worked eight of these songs into the atmospheric debut album Orangen. The music was brought back to its essence: warm, vulnerable and sometimes raw. On July 25, AVONDKOUT brings an intimate acoustic set with songs from Orangen, supplemented with new, as yet unreleased material. Together with guitarist Frankie Declercq, the songs were given a new acoustic interpretation in which West Flemish pop and post-rock merge in a sober, honest and melancholic way, with room for improvisation.
