Our entire building becomes a maze of sound: what you hear depends on where you stand and which direction you go
This music by Rebecca Saunders, specially rewritten to the size of the site, winds its way through the various halls, wings, and corridors of Muziekcentrum De Bijloke – or is it the other way around? In ‘Chroma XX’, the concert hall itself becomes the sound box, a kind of enchanted maze of sound. What you hear depends on where you stand, how long you stay, and which direction you go. ‘Chroma XX’ is not a concert to follow, but a composed space to explore. As an aperitif, absolute masterpieces by Georg Friedrich Haas and Enno Poppe prepare you for this excursion.
