Duo Jonathan & Ruben Ide

Basil Casteleyn is a young, talented cellist. At the age of nine, he started his cello studies at the Stedelijke Academie in Mortsel. After following some masterclasses with Justus Grimm, Basil was advised to further deepen his development through private lessons with Mikko Pablo (Susato Trio). Meanwhile, he is studying cello at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Antwerpen with Justus Grimm. Since the beginning of 2022, he has been a member and leader of the cellos of the Euregio Jeugdorkest, a leading symphonic ensemble with top talents from Flanders and the Netherlands. With this orchestra, he won the international competition Summa Cum Laude in Vienna in 2025. Jonathan Ide comes from a musical family and received his first piano lessons from his grandmother. He started his education at the Kunstacademie van Deinze. His passion ensured that he was admitted as Jong Talent to the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Antwerp where he continued his studies. He followed various masterclasses with famous pianists (Enrico Pace, Zlata Chochieva, Liebrecht Vanbeckevoort, and Julien Libeer) and was awarded numerous prizes at prestigious competitions. For example, he had the opportunity to perform at Bozar, Studio 4 in Flagey, and the Blauwe Zaal in the Singel. In 2025, he was a finalist at the Young Belgian Talent. Jonathan is also a permanent pianist of the Bosmans Strijkkwartet in Amsterdam.
