Fish and Folklore Mariekerke

The fourth full weekend of June is a high day for the day-tripper in Flanders. A feast of food, drink, and especially a lot of fun in a setting that is one of the most beautiful places in Flanders. On the banks of the Scheldt, the village bustles with activity and the old fishing past comes to life again. We open the festivities with a fishermen's procession on Saturday.
