Labo-chantier Variétés: Exhibition “Next stop: Utopia”

Sat, 20 Jun 2026 · 10:30
Théâtre de Poche, Brussels
Young people from the IPPJ imagine the world after. What if walls were not a limit to the imagination? From their situation of confinement, young people from the IPPJ of Wauthier-Braine decided to speak up and take height. For a month, accompanied by youth workers from Bruxelles Laïque and two volunteers from Genepi, six to eight young people aged 16 to 18 participated in six workshops on the theme of utopia. From breathing to reflection, from reflection to creation. Together, they questioned the world as it is to imagine the world as it could be. School and learning, living together, democracy, social inequalities, employment, racism and discrimination, the distribution of power and authority… So many themes addressed from a resolutely utopian angle because imagining a better tomorrow is already an act of resistance. The fruit of this work? Train cars tagged on paper, vibrant with colors, ideas, and creative revolt. Each car is a window open to a dreamed world, a world more free, more just, more solidary. Today, these young people invite you to board their train. To get off the rails of our certainties. To travel, for the duration of an exhibition, towards their utopias. The departure is now. Next stop: a better world.
