Leuven Pride 2026

Sat, 26 Sept 2026 · 15:00
Leuven Beach, Leuven
Free
On Saturday, September 26, 2026, Leuven will color in all the colors of the rainbow during the third edition of Leuven Pride. Together we march through the city in a Pride Walk where visibility, connectedness and solidarity are central.\n\nLeuven Pride consciously chooses its own, Leuven approach: no float parades, no VIP and no sponsor culture. The focus is on the people walking along. On the message we propagate together. Your presence is the most powerful signal of support in that.\n\nPride is more than a party. It is a moment to be visible, to strengthen each other and to stand up for equal rights and a society where everyone can be themselves. Regardless of your sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression: everyone deserves respect, safety and equal opportunities.\n\nThat is why Leuven Pride 2026 is also dedicated to safety. Because discrimination and violence against LGBTQI+ persons are still too often minimized. "That's not so bad, is it?" Until it happens to you.\n\nWhether you are part of the LGBTQIA+ community, an ally or simply want to show your support: you are very welcome to come and make a difference on September 26.\n\n𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙣\n\nSaturday, September 26, 2026\n\n3:00 PM: start gathering at Ladeuzeplein\n4:00 PM: start of Pride Walk through Leuven (route to follow later)\n5:30 PM: scheduled arrival back at Ladeuzeplein + start of Pride Show\n7:00 PM: music until 9:00 PM\n9:00 PM: start of Closing Party in Het Depot\n\n𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚\n\nDe Pride Walk departs from Ladeuzeplein and also returns there. Toilets and a drinking water point (free) will be available on the square. There will also be a bar and a number of food trucks (you pay for those yourself at the vendors).\n\n𝘼𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮\n\nLeuven Pride wants to be an event where everyone feels welcome.\n\n- The walk proceeds at an accessible pace.\n- The route is not always equally wheelchair accessible (our Leuven cobblestones). We organize a pick up point where you can join in to cover a shorter (and more accessible) distance. Would you like to do the whole walk, but need help with this? Let us know.\n- More practical information about the accessibility of the Pride Walk will follow. We will share the route a few days in advance with signage where the route is less accessible.\n- A wheelchair-accessible toilet will be available on the square. Halfway through the walk (and thus also at the pickup point) there is also an accessible toilet.\n- We provide an area in front of the stage for people in a wheelchair, people who need to sit or people who need to be able to see the interpreter.\n- We provide a Flemish Sign Language interpreter for the Pride Show.\n- The show will be presented bilingually (Dutch and English), with acts that will also be bilingual. Where possible, digital translation will be provided.\n\nDo you have specific needs, questions, or do you need help during the Pride Walk? Feel free to contact us and we will look for a solution together. We will share the route of the walk only a few days prior to the Pride Walk, due to the threat of counter-protests from other organizations.\n\n𝙅𝙤𝙞𝙣 𝙞𝙣!\n\nCome alone, with friends, family, colleagues or your association. Put on your most colorful outfit and walk together with hundreds of others for an open and inclusive society.\n\nBe proud. Be safe.\n\n*ੈ✩‧₊˚༺☆༻*ੈ✩‧₊˚
