Comedy Café | An evening full of stand-up

Ons Comedy Café opens its doors again! After the success of the previous edition, we are serving another evening full of strong jokes and sharp observations. From appetizer to dessert: four comedians who make our hall shake with laughter! Chef on duty is MC Jelle Beeckman (The Messy Chef). Deze Gentenaar stirs with visible pleasure in the pot of daily life. With recognizable stories about zebra drinkers, toddler pools, and social situations you'd rather not end up in, he serves humor with a good dash of self-relativization and a pinch of wordplay. Maarten D’Haene, winner of the Lunatic Comedy Award 2024 and driving force behind the Levels Comedy Club in Ghent, is a name that is appearing more and more often within the Flemish comedy scene. On stage, he looks calm and almost nonchalant, but before you know it, he pulls you into his idiosyncratic world of thought. With dry humor, absurd logic, and unexpected turns, he skillfully builds his stories toward sharp punchlines. Stijn Verdegem is a fixture on comedy line-ups throughout Flanders and has already been in the opening act of, among others, William Boeva, Jens Dendoncker, Steven Mahieu, and Han Solo. With fast jokes, sharp timing, and a good dose of guts, he serves a set that cheerfully grazes past taboos and sometimes cuts right through them. Main course of the evening? Nigel Williams! The Bristol-born comedian is seen as one of the founders of modern Belgian stand-up. Lightning-fast improvisation and lively interactions with the audience are his standard ingredients.
