Eco-garden day at the Permeke Museum

Sunday, June 7 – 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. On June 7, the Permeke Museum participates in the Ecotuindagen van Velt . During this open house day, you will discover how we transformed our museum garden step by step into an ecological and climate-friendly landscape in collaboration with Plant en Houtgoed. Our garden storyteller and an expert from Velt will be ready all day to guide you and tell you more about the principles of ecological gardening that are applied here. What you will discover: The ornamental garden How we combine plants and shrubs into a lively and beautiful eco-garden. Ecological principles How we manage the garden in a climate-friendly way: retaining water smartly, working with native plants, taking good care of the soil, and mowing less for more biodiversity. De Samentuin A first look at our new Community Garden, where visitors and local residents will soon be able to garden together in Permeke's garden. You can join continuously between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Participation is free and everyone is welcome. On June 7, we are also organizing BioBlitz Permeke in collaboration with Natuurpunt Jabbeke : a day on which we, together with experts, volunteers, and a broad public, search for and register as many species of plants and animals as possible in the museum garden.
