Discover the surprising story of the Westerkwartier together with a guide from Lange Nelle during a guided walk of approximately 5 km.
In two hours, you will discover how this special neighborhood evolved from a polder area and working-class neighborhood into a contemporary residential environment. Along the way, you will follow the course of the former St. Catharina Creek and get to know various social housing projects, including the Blokken and the Bunkers. The walk offers a fascinating insight into social housing throughout the 20th century, supplemented with stories about architecture, politics, and daily life.
