From early childhood, brothers David and Danny Ronaldo play the clown as a mirror of our human weaknesses. With poetic simplicity and pure clowning, they enlarge the small and make the everyday wondrously large. In ‘La Cucina dell’Arte’ they move this universe to the bustling world of the kitchen. Between pots, pans and porcelain, a spectacle full of humor, music and acrobatics arises.
Danny Ronaldo went to apprentice with the Sicilian master pizza chef Paolino Bucca and a 19th-century kitchen cart on caster wheels was considerably filled with porcelain dinnerware and the necessary edible and juggleable nutrients. Once the fragile kitchen cabinets open, an accordion begins to lead a life of its own, the spoons play a tarantella on the wine bottles and the ‘fragile’ spectacle can begin.
This legendary performance received five-star reviews and standing ovations from Reykjavik to Lisbon, from Sydney to Hong Kong and can now be seen in Schoten/Brasschaat.
