Ode to democracy Democracy is a party. You can complain about the music, but you can also compile the playlist yourself! Democracy! That means freedom. Being able to say your opinion without fear. Being able to protest. Dressing how you want. Loving who you want. Isn't this what everyone wants? But what is wrong with democracy? Threats are lurking. By quick-fix politicians who have quick answers ready for complicated problems. But also by ourselves. Yes, also by the people. Because very often we shout: I WANT IT AND I WANT IT NOW! But that's not how it works. That's not how politics was conceived, that was never the intention. Our democracy is not perfect. But let's not take the slippery path of anti-politics. Let's stay involved. This lecture-performance brings no new truth, but a necessary reminder. Because sometimes repetition helps to look again. And to see more sharply.
