Bjorn Eriksson & Elemy

Bjorn Eriksson & The Bouviers is the latest musical alliance of Bjorn Eriksson together with Sander Smeets and Maximilian Dobbertin. This trio of multi-instrumentalists brings a selection of Bjorn's instrumental solo work to life, pieces that originated in the shelter of his other projects, when his wife Nathalie Delcroix doesn't keep him on a leash. The repertoire includes songs from the jazzy The Easywood Killer LP, the more experimental work of The Harakiri Suites and Massaker In Honolulu LPs, the dreamy Plays Guitar LP as well as the latest, not yet released Music As A Reprogram Strategy For Limited Minds, where Bjorn again pushes a boundary for himself and focuses mainly on violin. Sander Smeets, also Bjorn's son-in-law, and Maximilian Dobbertin, who dubbed themselves The Bouviers because of their strikingly beautiful long black hair, form a close and versatile whole together with Eriksson. With three multi-instrumentalists and a virtually unlimited palette of sounds, their music is given every space here to breathe freely, layered, and vividly. Bjorn: guitar, pedal steel, violin, synths • Sander: bass, synths • Maximilian: synths, clarinet Elemy Bright Clouds, Marching Feet Elemy is a two-piece band around Emily Van Overstraeten. In 2023, Elemy, initially as a solo project, released her debut EP The Garden. Met Bright Clouds, Marching Feet is now a sequel. Together with Benjamin Hermans, she brings idiosyncratic compositions, to be described as dreamy, somewhat melancholic indie folk. Field recordings, recorded in Denmark, give the music an intimate and cinematic layering. They move in a decor painted by Emily, which gives the concert an extra dimension. The debut album was recorded at home in Kalmthout by Laurens Smet. Emily is also known as a singer with Boogie Belgique, a Belgian band that is doing very well internationally. Benjamin Hermans is part of the jazz projects Kreis and Mos Ensemble, which released several albums in recent years and were often seen on Belgian stages.
