During this summer evening concert, Bernard Winsemius lets us enjoy a range of classical works ranging from J.S. Bach to W. A. Mozart, Fr. Chopin, and E. Satie to A. Piazzolla. He concludes his concert with a waltz-dream. This concert is preceded by an organ recital from 6:30 PM - 7:00 PM. In addition to a Suite by L. Couperin, this renowned organist will play three compositions by J.S. Bach. Bernard studied organ at the Amsterdams Conservatorium and carillon at the Nederlandse Beiaardschool in Amersfoort. Bernard was an organ teacher at the Rotterdams Conservatorium for many years and also a carillon teacher at the Nederlandse Beiaardschool. He also fulfilled many guest lectureships at home and abroad. He is emeritus city carillonneur of Haarlem and Amsterdam; since 2012 also active as a freelance carillonneur. In 1981, together with Gustav Leonhardt, he was appointed organist of the monumental historical organs in the Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam. He has performed all over the world and made many recordings on LP, CD, and DVD.
