With THE POEM, Stef Kamil Carlens, together with Nel Ponsaers and Rahmat Emonds, brings a unique musical experience to the stages. In this concert, they rework their own songs and gems from the rich singer-songwriter tradition, where poetry, literature, and music seamlessly merge. Singing together is central, with Stef Kamil Carlens's recognizable husky tenor, Nel Ponsaers's velvet-soft alto, and Rahmat Emonds's soulful soprano. The music of THE POEM is minimalist, pure, and sensitive, but full of adventure. A pleasant, sultry sensation of being close to yourself for a moment. Each of the three musicians also comes forward solo, which brings each song to life from its own perspective. With a wide selection of special instruments – from guitars and basses to analog synths and even an automated snare drum – they create an immersive, intimate atmosphere.
