Hildebrandt Consort - Benefit concert: De Rozenkrans Sonates

With the benefit concert De Rozenkrans Sonates , we open the concert series of the 2026/27 season , together with the Hildebrandt Consort . The proceeds from ticket sales will be used entirely for the maintenance and preservation of the Saint Rochus Chapel in Mariadal via the Vrienden van Sint-Rochus . In this way, the music is not separate from the place in which it sounds, but also contributes to the survival of this historical heritage. The program is built around the so-called Rozenkrans Sonates , a monument within seventeenth-century violin literature. In this cycle, music is connected with meditation and stillness, not as an illustration, but as its own, musically thought-out reflection. The sonatas move between restraint and expressive intensity, between simplicity and technical refinement, and invite attentive listening. In dialogue with this core repertoire, works by contemporaries are also placed, creating a broader musical context in which affinities and contrasts become audible. The combination of violin and organ gives this program a special timbre. The music does not unfold linearly, but as a series of moments in which atmosphere, character, and inner movement are central. It is not a story that wants to be told, but a trajectory that you as a listener can follow at your own pace, with room for silence, resonance, and personal meaning.
