Powerful, profound, and honest folk/americana Mirja Klippel, a Finland-born artist who now lives in the Danish countryside, has made her mark on the alternative folk scene by weaving the grim beauty of the Nordic landscape with a touch of longing into her music. She draws her inspiration from Finnish folk, Americana, atmospheric dream-pop, and indie in a way that is both beautiful and tragic in the most romantic sense of the word. Klippel's debut EP, ‘Lift Your Lion’ (2016), showed the world her talents as a songwriter, singer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, while her second album, ‘Slow Coming Alive’ (2021), had a more introspective approach, exploring Finnish poems from her youth and addressing universal themes of social justice, to the sounds of intimate chamber music. For this, she has won three Danish Music Awards Roots nominations. Klippel is accompanied by her long-time musical companion, guitarist Alex Jønsson.
