Walk Houwaartseberg (8 km)

The center of Houwaart, Den Hagelander (symbol of the young Hageland wine culture), the rectory, the Saint-Denijs Church, and the honorary cemetery testify to a recent and a thousand-year-old history. On the way to the higher-lying vineyards on the Houwaartseberg, we stop at the renovated Saint-Joseph Chapel. The wine bench offers a beautiful panorama over the vineyards to the Vlooyberg Tower. Een Hagelandse long-facade farm takes you back in time to your ancestors for a moment. Aan de Haldertstraat three mysterious sisters wait for us in their chapel. The biorotor along the Neringestraat ensures the purification of the wastewater of Houwaart-center. In the middle of the Walenbos, we bump into environmental pollution (fly-tipping of a car wreck). We return along the wall of Sus pastor and his priest house. Enjoy the peace, the silence, and the natural beauty of the Walenbos. Boots or high walking shoes are recommended.
