Grou !

On the night of his twelfth birthday, Charles sneaks into the kitchen in pajamas. The clock will soon strike midnight. He only has to make a wish and blow very hard on the candle, as his Grandma taught him… Except that this time, nothing happens as usual! His wish takes the features of Grou, a Cro-Magnon man who takes him on a journey through time. Du Big Bang to the most striking events of the last century, this anachronistic duo sets off on an adventure on the trail of Humanity. What better than the past to help us illuminate today and envisage tomorrow? Grou! succeeds with crazy inventiveness in this bold bet: to project us through the ages, in a narrative mixing small and great History, all this from the apparently realistic setting of a kitchen. From object diversion to puns, the magic works. We take off from our seats, projected under a rain of shells or in the middle of the stars. And while the stage transforms into a place of all possibilities, the space of the dream opens up, a wonderful springboard to grasp the real. After the recreation of the road trip Bonjour, on est un tsunami last season, we are delighted to find the Compagnie Renards/Effet Mer for a lightning trip through our common history. And it doesn't matter if we feel tiny on the scale of what preceded us, Grou! is there to remind us that our power to act here and now is – for its part – infinitely great.
