TAFCOMEDY: WILLIAM BOEVA & STEVEN DEGRYSE

With his full 1m37 on the left side and 1m42 on the right, William Boeva (°6/11/1989, Antwerp) is the funniest dwarf of the Lage Landen. Armed with a mouth bigger than his stature, an artificial hip, and a handful of jokes, he headed to comedy café The Joker in Antwerp in 2009 to fall flat on his face. Maar William had tasted the stage and persisted. He soon won a series of beginner awards in the comedy circuit, with Humo’s Comedy Cup in 2012 as the icing on the cake. A number of successful solo shows followed, and in the meantime, William has also become a welcome guest on radio and TV. Whether or not as a gaming and/or Game of Thrones expert, with a unique special on the latter as well. You might have spotted him in Het Sterkste Netwerk, Scheire en de Schepping, Iedereen Beroemd, Is er een dokter in de zaal?, Kan Iedereen Nog Volgen?, Is er Wifi in Tahiti?, and many others. He also provided voices for animated films such as Pinguins van Madagascar, Cars 3, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, … Steven Degryse is an easy-going person. You can call him “Degryse” but also “Degryse”, he listens to “Degryse”, and even “Degryse” is no problem. Born in Ghent, he grew up in the well-known Café Folklore. There, he discovered the power of humor in the many bar jokes told there. But it would take until 2016 for Steven to find his way to Flemish comedy stages. First with improv comedy, with the Ghent-based company Caque, a few months later also with stand-up, and recently he has also been playing improv with the legendary The Lunatics. Meanwhile, no comedy task is too much for him: player, MC, solo-improv; Steven finds the challenge in everything and throws himself into it completely. On March 7, 2019, Steven won the 12th Vlaamse Improcup for Caque out of 10 participants. He was applauded to victory round after round by the 800 spectators and hoisted onto shoulders by the competition afterwards, a provisional highlight in a hopefully still long comedy career!
