Have you already become acquainted with the technique and basic movements of West African dance, and do you want to briefly taste whether you can get even more out of it? You have surely already felt that this dance form is more than just an outlet. It is, both in its tradition and in its contemporary variant, a powerful body language: it brings people together, preserves history and cultural heritage, it is a source of energy and an influence for other dance styles worldwide. During this deepening course, we will continue working with the essence of West African dance and various 'principles' from the basic course. Here, however, you are challenged even more to discover your own color, to develop your own body language, to put expression and emotion into dance and, in all that, to push your own boundaries. All lessons are given with a catchy live percussion band. Sitting still is therefore really not an option! Supervisors: Fanny Heuten, Jeremy Tomasck, Mohamed Lamine Kaba, Sana Camara
