On the windowsill of loner Patrick, three West Flemish geraniums are languishing. They are bored to death and dream of freedom together. Wanneer Patrick buys a smartphone, they seize their chance. Secretly they post a selfie in a plant swap group. Exit windowsill? After passages on Film Fest Gent, the Venice Film Festival and the Filmfestival Oostende, the geraniums finally end up on our windowsill. In this special VR experience, you become one of the three bored geraniums, you literally feel the wet potting soil and experience the escape from the inside out. With the juicy voices of, among others, Sam Louwyck, Sarah Vandeursen, Isabelle Van Hecke and Chris Lomme, The Great Escape playfully explores themes such as freedom, identity, and imagination. Very VR-expo Before or after The Great Escape you can pick up Very VR for free in the library, an accessible virtual reality expo by Joren Vandenbroucke. Take a seat at a bistro table, choose a VR experience from the menu, and let yourself be guided by a helpful waiter. From documentary to dance, from animation to interactive installations: you discover the versatility of VR as an art form. Every half hour a screening starts (25 min.) for max. 8 people.
