Mama, wanneer mag ik naar huis toe?

Met Pleegzorg Vlaanderen we would very much like to let the voice of parents in foster care be heard in the course of 2026 through the film 'Mama, wanneer mag ik naar huis toe?' by Jesse van Venrooij and Eline van der Kaa. This poignant Dutch film tells the personal stories of various moms about the placement of their children in foster care and what that does to them. These are stories of hope and resilience: how they work day after day toward reunification with their children, how both parents and foster parents work together to build a loving and lasting bond with the foster child with a view to shared parenting. The film shows how the bond between parents and foster care develops into a relationship of trust and cooperation, without shying away from difficulties. It is an honest film that aims to introduce the viewer to the other side of the story.
