€18–22
Met Caramel brings Liesa Van der Aa her most personal work to date. You hear echoes of Laurie Anderson,
James Blake, Billie Eilish and FKA Twigs. Electronics, contemporary classical, baroque, jazz, and hip hop... Caramel
wears all these coats at the same time, casually over each other.
Liesa worked for the album with, among others, James Williams (Leon Bridges), Dries Laheye (STUFF.), and producers Anja Ngozi (Tirzah) and Shungu. It became a record that seeks connection and refuses to become hard from a sometimes difficult-to-bear world. Liesa’s voice whispers: “Where do I belong? And how do you actually do that, being together? Balancing between me and you, between self and other, between inner world and outer world”.
The young talent gala dragot had a flying start on television to shortly thereafter independently make her own musical dream come true. Think of the quirkiness of Björk mixed with the drama of Rosalía, but then with lyrics that are about doomscrolling or the longing for someone who does not exist. After collaborations with, among others, Zwangere Guy and The Subs, she was the voice of the new Dries Van Noten female collection in 2026.
