Kasba brings a splashing melting pot of North African and Western music. This, together with socially engaged lyrics and a decent dose of nonsense, ensures that sitting still is not an option when this 8-piece band sets itself in motion and takes the audience to North African atmospheres.
In the last two decades, Kasba saw itself as one of the most led bands in the field of world music in the Netherlands. Kasba worked together with numerous artists ranging from Paul de Leeuw to the Metropole orchestra and from Frank Boeijen to Bløf. In Marokko Kasba scored a number 1 hit and the group can be seen or heard repeatedly on radio and TV. The band played at Lowlands, Zwarte Cross and was the closing act at Festival Mundial.
Another big performance was of course during the party in the Arena in honor of the wedding of Willem Alexander and Maxima in 2002!
In addition, Kasba gave various concerts in South America, including one in the largest theater of the continent in Bogotá, Colombia, and at the internationally renowned Ollin Kan festival in Mexico. In Nederland they were nominated for various prizes, such as “Beste Nederlandse world music act”.
So put on your dancing shoes, because sitting still is not an option this evening!
