“FOLK meets BAROQUE” with Marieke Van Ransbeeck and Dimos de Beun

Marieke Van Ransbeeck and Dimos de Beun play a lively mix of Folk music from Central and Northern Europe (Belgium and Nordic countries). The music that is performed is composed by the French baroque composers Joseph Bodin de Boismortier, Jean-Philippe Rameau and Nicolas Chédeville, newly composed by Marieke van Ransbeeck. Marieke loves to explore the boundaries between music genres and let them fade herself. For example, in this program the duo will bring Marieke’s own arrangements of traditional folk music from Denmark, Finland and Sweden. The instrumentation is baroque musette/Swedish bagpipes/Belgian bagpipes (Marieke Van Ransbeeck) and spinet/recorder (Dimos de Beun).
