220th first Friday walk

Departure : We take bus 42a at 09:05 AM at the stop Wommelgem Dorp (Puntzak – towards Lier) (please be at the stop 10 minutes before departure). We get off at the stop Lier Zagerijstraat where the bus arrives at 09:34 AM. We walk to platforms 4 at Lier station where we take bus 85 at 10:06 AM which brings us to stop Bevel Steynhoven. We arrive there at 10:43 AM to start the walk. Walk : This walk takes us to Bevel where we walk in the de Merode forest, past the kruiskeskapel (cross chapel) and the Nete. We will eat our sandwiches in café ’t Kruiske. After the afternoon, we head towards the Nete and along the Schipke to finally end up back at the bus stop via the de Merode forest to get back to Wommelgem in the opposite direction. Bring along : rain gear, bus card, walking shoes, picnic, money for drinks The distance is usually about 15 km. If everything goes as planned, we will arrive back in Wommelgem around 5:00 PM at the latest.
