For their new album, Hamabiwa, the jazz band dove into a playground full of distortion and rock grooves, complemented by a touch of synthesizer to complete the party. The concretely conceived grooves create a specific sound for each track, giving every song its own character. The musical journey the band has taken—from the pure, playful jazz on their 2018 debut album to their current sound—now culminates in characterful jazz-rock, interspersed with dreamy ballads. In the meantime, the band members have all become young parents, but they continue to find each other in the rehearsal room to express themselves in musical freedom, away from their responsible roles for a while.
