Time and again, disasters and wars also affect our heritage. That was no different in Ename near Oudenaarde. The small village was once the home base of a powerful abbey until... the Franse Revolutie. The last abbot fled with part of the archive and his most precious family possessions. Art treasures, farms, and mills were forgotten and disappeared. But in this temporary exhibition, the original collection and abbey possessions have been brought back. Two experienced guides lead us through all that beauty and tell us about the resilience of the community that braved centuries of conflict and unrest. Afterwards, we will chat some more over a drink in the Heritage Café.
